The Beginning – Kenar’s Salads

Food changes people, it has been said, and to prove that old saying in reality, in August 1990 at the place where we are so far, we opened a little restaurant. We offered you culinary products, hamburgers, and desserts but what you have come for have been our salads - Russian, Snow-White, Piquant, Italian, Mexican, Potato salad, Bean salad…

In this way our clients themselves initiated the production as they wanted the Kenar salads first in the restaurant, and then – in the store next to you and on your table at home.

The Challenges

We had them and the ideas in front of us, and the plans how to realize the ideas. We had a great desire to offer healthy and delicious foods, suitable for the taste of the Bulgarians.

Our first attempts to win the trust of our today’s customers contained not only the emotion of the beginning but the faith in success, too. "Why?" you may ask. It is because we believed in our dreams. It is because we started our way with lots of love and patience, with the desire to learn and to share our knowledge with you.

From 4 to 104 Table Luxuries

In the beginning we can’t say we have been a strong industry - 99 knifes, two mixing spoons for the salads, Zare and his wife, some more helpers and a plenty of new ideas for delicious dishes to offer you.

When for first time we offered the Mexican salad, some people were pretty surprised. Back then corn has been eaten boiled with the cob as it has always been sold at the entrance of the Boris’s garden. We have tried to shell it and put it in the salad and saw that the Mexican cuisine is so close to our taste, and… we have dared to offer it to you, with the hope that you will like it too.

Today you get over 5 tons monthly from our Mexican salad.

The Way

Since 1994, when we have built our first production base till today’s two bases with total area size 7 500 m² and 80 tons of production per day, we have changed ourselves along with your taste and your daily round, we have progressed together, we are always together with you

• with the Kenar sandwiches at the lunch break and with the chicken "Fantasy" at dinner,
• with the Zucchini salad in the summer and the Bean Salad in the winter,
• with the grilled chicken bits for your picnic and with the stuffed vine leaves for your holiday …

Regardless of what you do, where you are, whether you work or rest, we wish you to have always delicious food cooked with love.

For that reason, now we offer you grill, sandwiches and salads, culinary dishes, Bulgarian cuisine, Chinese cuisine, frozen ready-to-cook meals and canned foods and even fresh baked bread for your table.

The Last Machine We Bought

You can discern our Russian salad, can’t you? It seems like it has just been prepared at home.

The secret, besides the great mastery of our chefs, is hidden in the technology used in the preparation. With our latest machine – a cooling tunnel FRIULINOX – the potatoes and eggs for the Russian salad – and the products for everything that we cook for you – is cooled not in cold water but in the air – like the way you make the salad at home.

With the machine for aerial cooling we keep the gustatory and nutrition qualities of all products.
